Anchor babies are often separated from parents because the parents
refuse to take them along when deported, or they refuse to find their
own foster care parents. All anchor babies are dual nationals and if under age 18 can
accompany their parents to their home countries; however, anchor baby parents sometimes think if they get stubborn, and refuse to
exercise the option of taking the children, or of finding their own
foster care parents, they can stay here. They are in for a big surprise. If ICE has to call the State child protective custody authorities, the parents lose all parental rights and most likely will never see the children again. CPC authorities are efficient--and swift.
